Evaluation of microstructure and mechanical behavior of Aluminum 2024 and Stainless steel 304 GTAW joints

چکیده

This study aims to evaluate the microstructure and mechanical behavior of aluminum 2024 stainless steel 304 dissimilar joints. The gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) process has been employed weld base metals by inserting copper-nickel-based (Cu-10%Ni) filler metal. effects GTAW parameters such as current, speed, flow on tensile strength have analyzed through Taguchi method. Results revealed that is primarily influenced followed speed rate. excellent joint 138 MPa achieved using Cu-10%Ni optimal combination parameters, i.e., current level 2 (80 A), 1 (100 mm/min), rate 3 (10 l/min), obtained SN ratio optimization. Microstructure EDS analysis depicted zone a high-strength contained fine dendrites CuAl NiAl solid solutions, while low-strength featured coarse brittle FeAl phases.
